The Sioux Falls School District is in the process of forming a Library Advisory Committee. The Library Advisory Committee will serve as an advocate for the library program. The committee will help determine policies and procedures to guide library services as changing technology impacts available services. When a request for reconsideration of library materials arises, the committee will review the materials and make a recommendation to the superintendent regarding the continued use of the materials.
The board will be comprised of :
- District Library Coordinator as chairperson
- 1 admin from each level: elementary, middle, high
- 1 teacher from each level: elementary, middle high
- 1 librarian from each level: elementary, middle, high
- 2 parents from each level: elementary, middle, high
- 1 high school student (senior) as needed
- 1 middle school student (8th grade) as needed
